Default Replacement key fob

My understanding is that 2000 model Corvettes do not have a passive lock/unlock feature with the key fobs. I purchased a new key fob on line for my 2000 convertible. I have a window valet installed in the vehicle. The original key fob works the window valet correctly. The replacement key fob activates the window valet upon approach to the vehicle and is haphazard on operation when locking the vehicle. Sometimes when locking the vehicle the windows raise and immediately lower again and the door locks unlock again. It can take two or three times before the vehicle locks and the windows stay up.

Anyone else run into this?

I'm having the same problem and also have a 2000 coupe. SCP exchanged the valet for me but still having problems.

Were you able to figure a cure?

your problem is not the fob. In fact it is not a problem.

If you have used your windows when the top is down and then use the valet to raise/lower them with the convertible top is up, the windows will always take 2-3 raise/lower sequences to recalibrate the correct close height.

Once calibrated they should always raise to the correct position until you again use the windows with the top down. The next time you use the valet to raise the windows they will again have to recalibrate with 2-3 up/down iterations.

I see what you're saying but I don't have a vert. The odd thing is if the windows are already up and I close the door and press the lock button, the doors lock and then the windows go down? Not sure what the problem is.

I have a 2000 Convertible with a Window Valet.

Once the signal has been received by the receiver in the car, I do not understand why W/V would operate differently between the two remotes.

I installed my W/V a long time ago, and IIRC I had to change the window up strength from normal to strong to get it to work properly for me. This is explained in the W/V manual http://www.topdowntech.com/documents/WV-100.pdf. IIRC, before I changed that setting, it would sometimes go up and then go back down again.

After that adjustment it has worked properly ever since. The only time mine has ever closed the windows and not kept them closed is when I had the the windows up different amounts(I was keeping the windows cracked open to keep the car cool)

This might explain why it sometimes does not work properly, but it does not explain why it works properly with one FOB and not the other.

On mine I have put the window up and down with the top down, and with the top up, and it works properly each time, without needing to recalibrate in between.
