Default 409 STAINLESS Flowmaster C5 kit available!

Since my Flowmasters were VERY rusty when I got them and a baffle has recently broken loose, I called Flowmaster this morning and confirmed that the kit # 817517 for the C5 is indeed full 409 stainless! I found a seller on E-bay who lists it for $899 shipped, which is a great deal and only about $100 more than the aluminized steel version.

I'll be placing my order later today

For only $100 more, that's well worth it. I always wondered why they didn't offer them in stainless.

They're starting to make a lot more kits in Stainless and then going back down the list of the most popular kits and upgrading to stainless.

I wonder where are the materials come from? If it comes from China you can count on the stainless being sub-par. I've ended up with so called quality stainless that rusts within a short time. Hope it's all made with good stuff, but just saying.

Just looked them up, $1200+ (cheaper on EBay) and they're painted black. Says stainless tubing but doesn't say what the muffler itself is made of. You could see if a magnet sticks, if it does they have a higher amount of iron and will rust. (maybe why they're painted??) Maybe you would be better off with B&B's. They are highly polished and not too much more $. Mine live on my DD in the rain, shine, de-icer sprayed roads, etc. and still are bright and shiny. Good luck with whatever you get.

Flowmaster only sources US materials for the mufflers and all production is US. 100% Made In USA

The entire kit is done in 409 stainless as I said in the original post. their description on the site is not clear, which I pointed out when I spoke to the tech guy.

Like I said in your other thread on this subject... My 13 year old Corsa's are stainless and guaranteed for life... One of the reason GM chose this manufacturer and gave them a GM part number.
