Somrone is offering to trade me a 2000 coupe, 6 speed, black on black, with 27,000 miles. He's the second owner. What's it worth? My guess is $15,000 to $17,000.
I may keep the car but also may sell it next summer.
It is worth what you or someone is willing to pay for it. You did not mention any options, so a true value is a little hard to say. Did you check your local auto trader or the Kelley Blue Book? Those are always at least a good starting point.
Car currently has factory crome wheels on it but seller is including factory magnesium wheels that came with it new.
How much are the mags worth?
Just a tip, there were no factory chrome wheels on the C5. There were polished aluminum with clear coat, and you can get the factory wheels chromed aftermarket, but not from factory.
if your looking at it to try and make a buck or two then dont do it. if your looking at it to get a great car with low mileage and have fun with it then yes i would jump all over it. btw what do you have that he wants to trade?
It seems to depend on where you are located. I just bought an 01 with 71K on it in North Florida for $18K which is about $400 above NADA retail for my area. It took me 5 months to find it. Short of traveling great distances, there are no vettes close to me so I paid the price. Supply and demand at its finest.
32' highboy for a c5? I wouldn't do it...your car isn't affected by the economy as much as a c5 is. I'd gather your book on that car is 25-50k depending on the build/craftsmenship/parts used..it doesn't appear to be a rat rod...drop front axle/etc. I am assuming fiberglass speedway motors type body? Trade in value on a '99 vette is about 12.5k-13 w/average miles..being the vette in question is a '00 w/lower miles, i'd gather book is about 13-14k trade in via the dealer on the low end. Private is about 15-17k. You could prob find someone willing to trade a c6 for your car. Also you have to understand a vette in that year is still depreciating daily...all vettes get to the 5-7k mark then start to head back upwards (obv lower mile ones will yield a higher resale value) but c5 prices haven't hit bottom...yet. Your cars' value will stay constant for years to come. Maybe i just dig streetrods more..but my 2cents.

Thanks for the reply. I figure the differnce is $5,000. A number of '32' coupes in my area for sale in mid 20's and not selling. Lousy market for everything.
I think there's a wider market for the Vette than the '32, though.

yes and no. Wider market for a vette, but not necessarily a FRC. The FRC market is smaller because they don't typically have many extras that a lot of people like. And there's a lot of vette drivers that want an A4(automatic)
A FRC can bring more than what the book says, but it's like your 32, you have to find that person. Some people will pay more for a FRC/Z06 than a coupe because that's what they want.
