Hello all, I have just a few questions about tires and tire fitment for my 03 z06. Right now I have Falken 615k's, 315/30/18, and I'm going to be buying new tires within a week or so for the rear. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be buying the same tires, but if I decide on another kind, what do you guys recommend? Also, I'm confused about what sizes would work for me without throwing off my speedometer. I know that Falkens tend to have small sidewalls, so would I have to get 295/35/18's, or could I find 315's that would fit without messing up my speedo? Also, I drive this car to class and work so I don't want a drag radial, but I do want something fairly sticky. Hoping to get some decent life out of them as well, but I know I can't have something very soft that will last long. Thank you in advance for your help
Toyo Proxies all the way if you can still find them. Quiet, grip like a motherFer, look great, excellent price and wear slowly. Recently discontinued of course. Glad I found my car with a nearly new set on her but dreading replacement time if I can't find another set.
Plans changed...I am now considering drag radials, but I'm hoping to get at least around 10k miles out of them. I don't think I'll be able to get my hands on those toyos but I have heard great things about them.
I got some NT05's installed yesterday. Ill try and check back to let you know how I like them once I wear the oil off of them and finish putting my new brakes in.

I appreciate it, I've been reading reviews and people seem to like them, yet some complain that they don't hook up well in a drag setting.
A lot of us have the NT05... do a search; everyone that tries them likes them unless they do a lot of driving in the rain. It's really designed as a street/roadcourse tire, though. If you're really into drag racing there might be better options out there... maybe the NT05R or the NT555R?

I'm not really into drag racing, but I'll run it in the 1/4 a few times most likely. It will mostly be a daily driver, but I want it to perform very well.

You talking about RA1's , The Nitto 555R2 is the closest tire to the RA1 It is soft but has the stiffer sidewalls to handle the curves. I want a 305 35 18 to replace the 295's
Well I tried these tires this week along with a new shifter (RSD)...All I have to say is this car moves so quickly...it's a whole new level of intense. I can carry speeds probably 15-20% higher in canyon running. Before I ran the Bridgestones RE760. I would rate those as very good... These I would label as excellent.
Part of what's great is that its not just the higher limit these have. It's the confidence they inspire.
