Default 03Z Check Engine Light

Driving home from work yesterday and the check engine light came on steady (not flashing). So I got out my trusty $20 code reader and it shows 1416, which my code book describes as "EGR temperature sensor circuit faulty". I've also seen this code described as secondary air injection......It was still on this morning, so I turned it off and it has stayed off so far. Can anyone tell me the correct description for code 1416 and what should be done about it?
Thanks, jcs44

For future reference, you don't have to use your $20 code reader. The DIC will do the job fine - http://www.c5forum.com/ayc/dtcdic.php

The GM trouble codes lists P1416 as "AIR system bank 2" and is most likely the check-valve on the passenger side. It wont affect how the car runs and is probably just an indication that there's carbon or something gumming up the valve. The check valves keep the exhaust from going back into the air filter when the pump isn't running. It's common for carbon accumulation which attenuates the "check", no air is pumped in, and the 02 sensors detect the anomally, triggering the code.
