Trunk Mounted CD Changer Question?

Default Trunk Mounted CD Changer Question?

On my 2003, there is a trunk mounted 12 CD changer. The book says to change to the next CD you push Button 5 on the console. This doesn't work. My question is does anybody else have this factory unit in there car and does button 5 change the CD? It sounds so good in the car, just won't change when button is pushed. Thanks in advance.

The five button on the radio changes mine.

The radio with the single cd has only the 5, no icon. The radio with the cassette player has an icon (I think for noise suppression symbol) and the number 5. Either one should change the disk in the factory 12 disk changer. I have had both.

Any chance you're listening to a cd in the dash unit. The 5 button doesn't do anything in that case. If you push the cd/aux button it will switch between the dash cd and the changer if both are loaded. Also, if you only have one valid cd or readable cd in the changer, it won't change. Does the "next" button on the radio switch the track on the playing cd? Does the aux/cd button switch between the radio and the changer? In other words. do the other controls work for the changer besides the 5 button?
