Ouch! Good to hear you're OK.
Was the truck driver ticketed? I certainly hope so. Be sure to respond to any subpoena you may receive regarding this matter as it's possible he will plead "not guilty" and demand a hearing/trial before a judge. If you're not there (as a direct witness for the "State") he may get off unless the judge decides to rely solely on the testimony of the officer, who was not there at the time of the accident of course. Of course the truck driver may have admitted fault to the officer at the scene too. Lot's of variables. Best bet....be there in court if necessary. I know I certainly would be.
Awful, just awful. I feel badly for you. If it helps I messed mine up myself and had only me to blame and I was so mad at myself. Luckily I had a good shop and they fixed it almost as good as new. You would never know the driver side door was repaired and repainted.
Its not the trucks, its the drivers. Down here, its constant and the truck drivers always say..."I was cut off". Its a big problem with those
"cowboys".
Sorry for your misfortune, good luck with the repairs.
Oh Doug, It made me sick reading your post. Every time, something like this happens to one of our member,we all feel it. On the bright side and most importantly, your OK! The car is in good hands with Joe. Please keeps us informed and we hope for a rapid recovery for your Lady.
Appreciate all the comments and input. My wife who knows me like a well read book, knew the car would be sold as soon as it was fixed. I have never kept a car that had any kind of incident.
Well "my second lady" is different than any other car I have ever owned. Joe and Mike will bring her back and in my life time she will never be sold. Got a son and grand son standing in line with their hands up.
Won't be back in Florida until early January and both cars should be 100% by then.
I can honestly say - she has never been in the rain - you could not find one flick in the paint - interior while not stock was A-1 - with the turbos sounded like a jet and scared many - At one point on the trip down I was over 30 miles per gallon. The "Lady" will be back
I know how you feel, I learned long time ago to always watch the big trucks, Working around them the last 23 years there are blind spots for sure where the driver can't see.
Glad you are ok and your car will be as good as new, I will add this, When you do get it fixed have them paint the whole car, I went through this last year. No matter how good the painter is after a while you will be able to tell one side was painted and not the other.
Again, I am sorry.
Mr.Bill
Doug ,the top and wheels were in great shape, and were a good deal. They worked out well. Thank you.
I sold my car and will buy a Vette after the purchase of a home in Fla.
I would like to get a low mileage 03 50Th vert 6 speed, or maybe a 2008 vert 6 speed deep red with cashmere top and interior.

Sorry to hear about the damage but good to hear no one was injured. Actually headed over to St Auto Aid to inquire about some work this coming week and to see If I can hook up with Mike about some paint work. Used to work in Ocala for 5 plus years, nice town still have some friends there. Anyway good luck with the repairs, and have you gotten your custom seats completed?

Good luck.
He admitted it was all his fault. Police officer told me that he would include in his report and that I had nothing else I could do. Appreciate the comments and I will stay on top of it. Thanks.
Again, Sorry about your car, Can you post a picture of the damage the wheel did to your car?
Mr.Bill
Car is in St. Petersburg, Florida and I am back in Maine. Will see if I can get someone to post a picture. Not really all that bad just a big round hole in the door and rear panel. Two wheels chewed up and some cracks where the running board hit the car.
Pretty had to avoid when you are just taking off as the light turns green and the truck driver who came up after I had stopped decides to pull into the right lane. Got to blow the horn and get this sick feeling as I was being hit. Swerved as far right as I could but it was like I was hooked to him front passenger wheel. The lug nuts just chewed away at the door. Do have a poor picture on my cell phone - don't have much luck posting so if you supply email I will forward and you can post. Thanks, for the comments. Doug Q.
It really hurts to look at this picture, Again Doug, I am sorry.
Mr.Bill
Doesn't show the damage the running board did to the rear fender or the damage to several of the wheels. I am amazed that there was no damage to the underneath. Thanks for posting. Doug q.
