Default SLP Powerflo guys, step inside please

Now that I need to replace my (used, rusted out) Flowmasters, I'm considering 4 options:
  1. Get the same Flowmasters that I already like and be happy with that $600 + install
  2. Get the 409 stainless cat-back version from Flowmaster that I can install myself $900
  3. Get the SLP Powerflo system which I can install myself, but I'm concerned about interior resonance, and also that it may be a cop-attractor (especially considering that I like to rev it up) About $700 for this option
  4. I can get the same mufflers that I already have but with a single 2 1/2" outlet and then buy the Powerflo tip (that I love the look of), then have a muffler shop do the install. - about $600 plus the install
Basically, it's all about the same price +/- $100 - the biggest concern is interior drone with the SLP system. Also - I'm wondering if the inlets to the SLP tip are at 90 degree to the outlet. It's hard to tell from the pictures. If they are, that would be great, but if they're not then I think plumbing them with the Flowmasters would end up being an ugly affair. The other problem with the individual Flowmasters is that one of them is going to be "seam up" and the other "seam down". The seam is where the case overlaps and has the embossed Flowmaster logo. Since the mufflers show from behind, that would look hokey.

Keep in mind that I've already put 21K miles on the car this year, so the drone at cruise is a serious issue for me. Anyone with a 6 speed and PF system that can give me some input on this?

I finally found a picture of the tip from the top and it appears the inlets do point out to each side at 90 degrees so that's good.

I'm still looking forward to feedback on interior resonance though. I searched and it seems that most of the people using this system have automatic verts which doesn't help me much.

I have a 2003 6spd coupe with a Powerflo & Blackwing, I bought both from SLP and got the best price on my exhaust from SLP on sale $610

The drone issue is there when I am in 6th at around 70 mph but it is not really annoying it is more of a low level drone, so you will not need ear plugs. Also seems like it quiets down some when it warms up, I have noticed at times that I get a pretty harsh drone when excelerating at slow rate when car is still cold but seems to go away once car is at operating temp, and is less annoying with windows open.

Overall I like it, awesome fit quality, wanted different style tip one of the reasons for purchase, a little louder than I like but it is growing on me, have had many compliments on the sound, really sounds great between 3000-5000 rpm, and has a nice deep note from a dead stop, and would say it really sounds best if you have a 6spd, so you run in what ever gear for some great music.

Have wanted to post a video but just haven't had time, and I still have the stock mid pipes so it does pop and gurgle but sounds pretty good.

Hope this helps.
Steve

Thanks so much for your input Steve! I have the Magnaflow x-pipe so I'm hoping that will take care of the drone. I also plan on changing gears next year, so that would move me up out of the drone RPM range as well I think.
