The 5th annual Wings and Wheels show was held yesterday at the Beauregard Airport here in DeRidder. The airport was built back in the early 40's to train WWII pilots and is still a active strip for corporate jets and Fort Polk. This year the weather was great and had a great turnout of local planes plus some very nice warbirds.
The F4U Corsair , P-40 and a beautiful P-51D flew in plus a couple local Stearman's and a very nice Birddog. I was able to go up in one of the Stearmans a month ago and was quite the experiance. The car show didn't have many cars but the ones in attendance was pretty nice..Enjoy..
Can't remember the last time I've seen Stearmans in formation. And I can't wait to see that P-40 in person...I think the resto was just finished this year.

Hey billla glad you noticed the formation flying. The 2 Stearmans are owned by Bonnie "Swamp" Smith and are flown by Glen Callahan and Bobbi Gotreux. Swamp likes his Birddog and flys it most of the time. He's also owned a T6 which was in the Tuskegee airman movie a few years ago. There is a huge Stearman flyin somewhere in Illinois that they get judged on Formation flying so they do alot of practicing to get ready for it.
The P-40 was at this same Flyin a couple of years ago and pretty sure is based somewhere around Jennings Louisiana.
Glen took me up in the Stearman he flys and I was totally blown away by the experiance. He put me thru some stuff and I was ever so glad to be put back on the ground..
