I had stock trans and 455rwhp for a year. No problems, but I did not go WOT all the time. Just decided to get trans built and 3600 stall to have more fun!

I have over 500rwhp, and have no issues.
I also know that is the weakest link the the drivetrain right now. So if I'm on borrowed them, then so be it. I'm not going to replace it until it goes.
I don't know the answer, but it's no TH400 for sure.
I have a used one on the way to go through so I can install it when I change the converter.
From what I have read, GM made the last updates for the 2001 model year.
And yes it is a 4L60E. The decendant of the 700r4 actually.
A 4L65E is a bit tougher and has 5 gear planetaries front and rear. The 4L60 has 4 gear planetaries.
My plan is to work with A1 transmissions on a rebuild. They have done drag race stuff for years. They are local to me.
