Default Driver side mirror

Just brought our 02 out of inside storage (5 months), drivers side rear view mirrow now has a yellow tint to it and is a little 'blurry'. Can still use it, just looks a little goofy.

Any ideas/suggestions.

Need to be replaced, much of a job?

Mine did the same thing....it will only get worse.... Mine developed circles in the dimming film and I could not see out of it. For now I just stuck on the cut to shape mirror from the auto parts store. I priced it out at the chevy dealer and it was not cheap......

You have the auto dimming mirror, and in time they will all go bad.

My driver's side mirror went brown for a while then started to leak and developed circles in it.

My car windows are tinted all the way around at 20%, so the dimming part of the mirror is a useless feature to me.

The dimming mirror at the dealer is $ 235.00 and that's just for the glass part. the heated ones with no dimmer are $65.00, and are interchangeable, you will just have one dimmer harness that will not plug into anything.

I bought the $65.00 mirror, installed it, and could not be happier with it.

what you have is the electrochromatic mirror option. all the descriptions above are correct including the replacement cost for a new mirror glass part. mine went south (on an 04) about 4 months ago. i decided to replace it as factory, because i'm not a big fan of tint, and down here in so florida, it's (the tint) just an obvious excuse to be pulled over and checked for density. usually if they want, they can come up with something even if the tint passes. i don't need to call any more attention to the car (and me) than need be!!. besides, even in the so florida heat in august, my a/c has no problem turning the small interior compartment into a meat locker if i let it. since the car is rarely left out in the sun for any period of time, i've never been able to figure out why it is needed. (at least in my case).

hi, i had a lincoln ls and the mirror went bad. the mirror had a bladder in it and it leaked down on my console, the liquid marred the finish. i think the instant you notice anything, you should get rid of your mirror so it does not mess up your vette.
