Does it affect the value of a 2000 coupe if it was repo'ed in 2004 from original owner, with 25k miles? New owner has owned it for 6 years and now 33k miles. Car has no issues.
As long as there are no title issues, I would assume that the repo would have no ill affect on the value of the car. The only thing it might do is raise some questions if a potential buyer sees it on a history report.
Someone may have fell on bad times and just turned it in to the finance company. They would then take it to auction. Just because it was reposessed doesn't mean some gnarly repo man drug it out of an alley. Could be no more of a deal than if someone traded it in.
If it was reposessed with damage, it should show up. That is if you believe in Carfax.
