Default Remote control for door locks / alarm

For some reason the search function is not working for me.
Either that or no one has ever created a post with the word REMOTE in the title.

My question.

Can you purchase another remote for the keychain?
If so, where and how much does it cost to have it programmed?

Can I just buy a used one from Ebay and have it programmed?

There are about 3 different remotes for the C5, They can all be programed by you, Very easy, It would help if you filled out your profile so we know what year C5 you have, The first couple of years the remotes are really costly, You can get them on eBay for a decent price, But you have to make sure you get the correct one for your year.
Mr.Bill

Sit in the driver's seat of your C5 Corvette.

2 Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "RUN" position.

3 Turn off power to the radio.

4 Press the "RESET" button on the Driver Information Center (DIC) to clear any warning lights. The DIC is to the right of the instrument panel.

5 Press the "OPTIONS" button on the DIC until a blank message appears on the screen.

6 Press and hold "RESET" on the DIC for 2 seconds.

7 Push the "RESET" button once when the screen reads "FOB TRAINING." This will bring up the message "HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB" on the DIC screen.

8 Hold down "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" on the remote at the same time for 15 seconds.

9 Watch the DIC, as it will read "FOB LEARNED" when the programming is accepted for that remote.

10 Repeat steps 8 and 9 to program any additional key fobs

You're in luck. You can buy the 01-04 fobs (which is what they are generally called) on ebay for around $10 bucks. I bought two for a previous car for $20 shipped.

Thanks for the helps folks

Is there a difference between #1 or #2 fobs?

Some of the EBAY auctions show #1 or #2

You can use either. The order you program them will make them #1 or #2 regardless of what the number on the back of the fob is. You can use two #1's if you like, the first one you program will become #1 and the second #2. The numbers in the plastic on the back are just to make it easy to keep track of which is which for your memory settings.
