I'm not real sure if I have a problem or its in my head. Last few years I've drag raced at a local car show. So once a year for the past 5 years. Last year I noticed I was having a bit more trouble keeping the tires glued down smacking into 2nd and third. Felt almost like the tires were getting traction at different times. That was 7 months ago. The tread is real good and it drives good. Just seems like if say I accelerate in second hard it has some uneven flex to it which I never noticed before. It's stock besides intake, tune, cat back. What do you guys think? Thanks...
So I guess everyone is saying its all in my head. Just didn't know if somehow it was possible to gain uneven power to almost make it flex causing it to want to spin sideways. I hear people talk about those rubber bushing in the driveline and didn't know it maybe they could have went bad. Well I'm sure its in my head then if nobody experienced this with a sumwhat stock z06.
If your cars straight line performance is slowly degrading over time it could be a sign that your stock shocks are slowly wearing out. If your car relatively stock Z06 is having wheel hop and traction issues at the 2-3 shift I would look at shocks first. As your C5 ages it may be time to start looking at wear items like shocks to keep your car performing at it's best.
We have a replacement shock that's perfect for C5Z in the Johnny O'Connell package.
If you have recently replaced your shocks there are a couple other things you can look at to keep wheel hop to a minimum, such as our trans brace kits, or even just verifying that your alignment is setup properly.

I was having the same sort of problem, I took my rearend out to change gears and found the ring that holds the clutch packs for the posi unit to be broken so my posi was only working about 50% of the time....
Thanks for the replys. I never thought of the shocks going soft. It is an 04 with 50,000. That would make sense on how it may be squating on one side more than the other.
