We are going on an over night trip so I check the tire pressure because the sensors show 2lb and 3lb low. My hand held gauges (two different ones) show 30lb on the nose. Do you trust the senors over gauges?
Had the senors rebuilt when I got new tires about 1,000 miles ago.
The "pen style" tire pressure gages are notoriously inaccurate. However, if you are within a couple of pounds I do not believe that it will cause you issues. Having the same pressure in all tires is probably more important than the actual reading off of a gage. Having said that, I would probably put an extra pound of air in to make the TPMS show the proper amount and then use them as a reference as suggested in another post. Good Luck .
Just wondering if the tire pressure sensors can be recalculated either by the dealer or a tool that we could purchase? I have the same problem, with all sensors reading low (being compared to 2 different digiatal gauges). The computer keeps popping up a warning about a tire being low, I clear it from the display, then it displays a different tire being low.
