Not thinking about lowering my car, but while reading a thread about lowering I wound up checking out how to do it. It said start by measuring the height of the wheel wells and should be about 27 3/8 in the front and 28 5/8 in the rear.
Just out of curiosity I measured my own car. It is 26 3/8 in the front and 28 5/8 in the rear. An inch short in the front? I doubt the previous owner lowered it in the front. The car only had 10k miles on it when I got it about a month ago. There is nothing about the car that doesn't look like it came from the factory that way.
Does this look right or like it's been lowered in the front?
It's going to depend on the tire dia correct?
I have wondered this myself because my car scrapes the front on a lot of driveways.
So I measured mine now that it is in the garage on a level floor.
26-3/4 front, 28-3/4 rear.
Tire sizes are 265/35/18 (25.3 dia) front and 295/35/18 (26.1 dia) rear.
2000 coupe with the base suspension.
Tire diameters are the same as a Z06 per Tire Rack.
I don't know if mine has been lowered in the front. The rear bolts have not been messed with.
I wonder if lowering the rear would help with the scraping by reducing the rake? Otherwise I'll have to raise the front if it has indeed been lowered on the bolts. I am the 4th owner.
Lowering the front without lowering the rear could cause scraping. Around 26 inches is where the car would be lowered on stock bolts.
The rears lowered should be in the 27 inch range.
A 2 inch difference between front and back is a bit off. It should only be around an inch.

Maybe the previous owner liked that slanted look!! If those tires are the recommended stock size, then the front has definitely been lowered (on stock bolts most likely).

My car scrapes a lot also. I haven't checked my tire size but they are Goodyear run flats. Lowering the rear would reduce the rake and help some on the scraping issue but it would be minimal. We would gain a lot more by raising the front.
I do like the lowered look but my bad knee already doesn't like getting out of the car. Lowering it more in the rear would only make that worse. Right now my car is 2 1/4" difference, maybe a little higher in the front and a little lower in the back would be the best for me.

I like that look. I may have to lower mine in the rear just to see what it's like. The roads around here are not the best and I'm concerned with the scraping issues. Can you go over speed bumps etc without any problems?
Just wondering, is there a natural settling to the suspension? I would think that over the years it would drop a little just from age. I know I am, settling from age I mean.
I agree. Maybe it has something to do with Mil Yellow cars?
I wonder if the extra rake messes with the handling? I would think it does.
