It's been a looonnnng time between vetts. 33 years to be exact. I decided to "go for it" and picked up a '02 C5 this past Saturday. It's way more sophisticated than my '68 427 (if I only knew then what I know now). The car came with a full tank of gas. I live in Indiana. Winter is just around the corner. My questions are:
1. Is it OK to add some type of fuel stabilizer to the tank?
2. Which one would you recommend:
a. STA-BIL
b. Techron
c. Sea Foam
Thanks for the help
Mike

sta-bil I put in ever thing I have if it goes up for the winter...Also welcome to the c5 section.
I keep mine on a Deltran Battery Tender and take it out whenever the roads are clear of salt. If the roads are a mess for a length of time I start it every week or so, pull it out on the driveway and let it run until the engine reaches operating temperature.
I wouldn't start it and just let it run. You will probably not have it run long enough to get the condensation out of the engine. Just put a battery tender on the battery, and some stabil in the fuel and let her sit.
Just my opinion.
Mike, there are a few other things you might want to consider.
1) Most people wash, wax and completely detail the car before storage.
2) A car cover is in order.
3) If you have mice you must protect the car. They can nest anywhere and love to eat the insulation on wiring. I stuff steel wool in the exhaust tips and covered each with a sock. I stuff towels in the front air intakes and hang two pouches of moth ***** under the hood. Others put bars of Irish Spring in and around the car and under the hood.
4) I don't do anything to my tires, but some over inflate them to protect from flat spots. Others put their car on jack stands and remove the tires.
