Well till spring 2012 that is. I took my car out for a nice drive today to enjoy the nice good ole country roads in the middle of nowhere Indiana! With me only putting less than 1000 miles on the car this year I feel I didn't get to enjoy it at all go figure! With work and my wonderful girlfriend and kids I was a busy man this year lol but next year I really want to hit the canyons and I will def not miss carlisle!
Also praying that santa gives me a set of LT headers too lol! Have a happy holidays everyone! It is now time for this vette to go into hibernation!
I put mine to bed nov. 1st. It will give you something to look forward to. Kind of like waiting for the leaves to come out and the grass to turn green. Good luck with that Chrismas wish list.

It's a sad time of year for some of us. I'm still holding out hope for a few more days of driving pleasure, but I know it won't be long before mine gets put under the cover for a nap.

. I am also in Mo and hoping for a mild winter. I have a car lot so I have lots of cars to choose from but always choose the vette.
Mine went to sleep last week. Like you, I didn't get much use of it this year. Considering a trip to Nova Scotia and Newfoundland next year. That will give her a good workout.
What's this thing you talk about putting it up for the winter? If the roads allow it, I'm driving it. Between the Hot Rod Power Tour and other various trips I racked up 10K and counting this year.
I'm going to see if these things actually go for 200K before major repair. If it does, I'll do the needed refurbishing and go for another 200K.

The "putting her up for the winter" is a hard concept for me to comprehend having lived all my life below the Mason Dixon line. I hear this from my northern MC friends online also. I've spent some time traveling in the upper part of this country and know there is some beautiful land up there but, other than one February in upper ND (BRRRRR!), I haven't spent a lot of time up there in the winter.
Is it like mother nature flips a switch around this time of year and there is absolutely no chance for a few balmy days 'till next spring?
Even here in east TN I always get asked by friends that know I have a MC and now, a Vette, "When you going to put 'er up for the winter?". I just can't bring myself to do that as it seems there is always a warm(er) spell within a few weeks no matter what month it is. I just make sure I have some Seafoam in the tank and a battery tender handy, just in case we have an unusually long nasty run where I just want to hibernate.
So, to you that must endure the down time, my condolences and wishes for a short winter!
Today I went for a spirited cruise, Then washed it, waxed it, winterized it, then put her away for the Hated / Dreaded long winter.
Last year was my first winter storing the car and it was terrible! Hopefully it wont feel as long this go around. But like others have said once you get behind the wheel come spring it was well worth the wait!
I couldn't stand to let her sit the entire winter. She's under cover tonight as crappy weather the next few days,,but it WILL clear up. If the roads aren't crappy,,she eligible for road duty at any time. This cuts down on battery problems,,leaves my C-tek for my 69!!
