You might think about making a relocation kit for it just in case it goes out again, That way you can change it in 5 mins and don't have to cut up your car to make access, You would only have to remove the intake once and that is easy..

YOUTUBE has a video called; replacing oil sending unit on C5,,,Put out by O'Rielys Autoparts. (Shows that this procedures takes less than 20 min.) All it takes is; a ratchet, an extention, a socket, an a swivell to place on the end of your extention. I watched it, then proceeded to change my out myself. Saved myself hundreds of dollars. Believe you me, I'm certianly no mechanic.

Mine just quit on me yesterday at approx 93k miles. I took a look under the hood for it based on that YT video and couldn't even come close to seeing where it is. Crap.

I forgot to mention that you couldn't see the unit. But it's there an it takes a deepwell 17mm socket. Best of luck!

Thanks, but if I can't see it (like I could in the video, at least), then I probably can't touch it and I certainly don't want to screw around with trying to remove the clip with the wires without being able to see anything. I'm just going to bite the bullet and pay someone else to swap it out.

That's understandable. Took one look at your "02 Vert and can see why. Very Nice Ride. Very Nice Indeed!
Anyone else successful with this rachet method?? Any further tips to access?
I didn't have enough room to even get a socket in there. Ended up cutting a hole in the plastic cover above the sensor. I still had to remove the breather hose from the drivers side and wedge it out of the way to have enough room to get to the sensor.
