Good call Chasboy. I can not speak to the Forum as a whole. Only to my frame of reference. So, I'll rephrase my comment-- no wonder a lot of my friends are looking for other car/Corvette sites.

Phil, I'm a HAPPY Z06 owner for about 6 weeks, my first hot rod, first Corvette, so my frame of reference is limited. I think this forum is terrific, and I've been a member of a variety of forums since I was able to connect online back in the early 90's. I wonder why you object to this thread?

Charlie- I totally support Mr. Bill's calendar project. I just find this thread sooooo unnecessary because what he doing is such a benefit to our community that giving it sticky status is a no brainer. I just can't understand the Forum's inablilty to recognize that. I too enjoy the Forum and have found it to be a great resource; however, sometimes I think its administration can be very arbitrary. Enough said. Don't want to hijack this thread. PM me if you'd like to discuss further.

I think the brevity of your initial post caused me to misunderstand your meaning. I completely agree with you.
... Have you contacted the moderators and ask them to make it a sticky ...
Good question. First I've heard of it.

This 105-post thread may be a good example of why we ask that questions, complaints and suggestions be made to us via PM or e-mail, rather than in an open thread:
Some of you seem to have gotten all lathered up for no reason when the issue could have simply been addressed with a PM or e-mail request for a sticky.

Good news, I hope this puts Mr. Bill 1 on 1 with the right people here

Good Morning Sir, Just read your post of 03-27-2005. Please let me be the first to offer you my sincere opoligy for not taking the above mentioned course. I do know how things should be handled now. Agian I apoligise. I sincerly hope this does not hinder the chance of the 2011 Corvette Slideshow being granted a place among the stickies. Let me also say; "I think this forum is the greatest an I read it daily."

Reason: spelling :)

This is good to know, but with threads being locked after only a few reply's, it's hard to believe no administrator noticed this one until brought to your attention. Besides, in this day and age, it feels good to vent for a cause you support!

If no one pressed they won't know. It's like the bat symbol for Mods

When threads are locked, the protocol is for moderators to post the reason for the lock. If they overlook that or get distracted, PM one of us to see what's up, rather than jumping to conclusions that may not be supported by the facts.
While venting may make you feel good, it just makes the jobs of the volunteer moderators more difficult than it should be when their work is being challenged in open threads.

It's just not possible for the volunteer moderators to do a comprehensive read on everything posted, so they depend heavily on site users reporting posts they are concerned about.

A review of moderator activity in this section shows 15 threads have been locked during the past 30 days. Most of them were dupes. In 12 of the threads, the moderator involved posted the reason for the lock.

Good to know, but this thread was never about locked threads, it's a movement to get Mr. Bill's 2011 Slideshow placed back as a sticky.

The comment about locked threads was in response to your introduction of that topic. As to your point about the "movement," my point continues to be that the moderators can make a thread sticky if someone sends them a request via PM or e-mail.
