Default I want quad tips

So I have a B&B cat back system but with the single tail pipe on each side.
Would it be as easy as buying these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280766508446...84.m1438.l2649
And have them welded in or will these not work?

As long as you could get the spacing right and the alignment correct, I guess it would work.

Just make sure the alignments correct....I saw one this weekend at Autorama in houston and it looked like s*U^!!. I am so glad I am capable of doing my own work because I have an OCD problem about uniformity.

Btw I wasnt talking about the pipes themselves I was referring to the alignment that they did

How could the alignment get messed up?
I must not be thinking about what you guys are.
Do you mean if its not welded on straight or what?

So as long as I take those tips to a shop that knows what they are doing and I let them know what I expect I should be fine

There is no doubt it can be done. Will it look good and uniform like it was produced that way? Maybe. That all depends on who does the work and if the shop actually takes their time aligning things.

However, I'm in the OCD crowd with spankdxm. I, personally, wouldn't hack up a perfectly good, name-brand system. Not to mention it would drive me nuts and I would glance at it every time I walk up to my car if the tips were crooked and/or looked bad on my car. You have a nice Billy Boat system- I would sell it here on the forum, and then pick up a 4-tip system of your choice. This way, you can pick the exact system and corresponding sound you want too (assuming you bought the car with the 2-tip system on it.)

Correct it has the 2 tip on it now. I love the bullets so I don't want that sound to change. I wish billy boat sold their 4 tip by itself

Hmmm! It appears that the tips are chrome plated steel and I think your B&B's are stainless. I'm no welder, but I think this creates a problem. Also, if the tips are steel, they won't last too long.

Well, in that case then, you can also try posting up a thread in the parts for sale section saying that you want to trade your 2-tip B&B system for a 4-tip. You might not get any bites, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Your gonna want to scrap this idea for numerous reasons.

1. If your dual system is like mine it comes out favoring the outer part of the opening on the rear fascia.
2. I would imagine the BB’s are 3” this part is 2 1/2”.
3. The chrome would need to be removed wherever the weld would be made.
4. The labor involved to correct these issues wouldn’t make economical sense.

As stated in an earlier post, if you want quad tips sell your dual tips and buy a quad cat back. You just may break even.
