Default Lowered car

I lowered my 01 about 1.25". Of course the front air dam scrapes on everything, Has anyone cut the air dam the came amount as the car has been lowered. Will it affect the cooling
Thanks guys

cutting it does zero good, it's for aerodynamic and cooling. and it's designed to accept scraping. Remove it if you care of none of the above.

A BIG 1.25 you say, and scrapes on EVERYTHING? That would really bother me!

Maybe you should raise it back up to 4X4 status if it bothers you so much. It's not hurting anything, and designed to flex.

Let it shave itself, then it would alright. Eventually it will be minor scraping, plus you get use to being more careful with dips. L8R ZFLASH

The air dam is self leveling if you drive it enough.

Some owners have shaved the air dam off a bit to help with the scraping, but as mentioned, the parts are relatively cheap to replace and they are designed to flex when they come in contact with an object. Might just want to live with it for a while until you just replace the pieces.

I love the scraping Hitting the switchbacks in the mountains and coming out of a low corner with the front scraping gives me a chubby!!!

I measured the clearance that I had to the ground prior to lowering and then cut the air dam to give the same clearance. I figure it would give the same cooling affect. But like others said, it won't make a difference.

That actually looks pretty cool! Maybe I'll try it before ordering new ones.

After slamming my Z I trimmed 40mm off mine with no change at all in cooling performance.
