The horn on my Corvette is not working so I brought it to the Chevrolet dealer. I was told that the airbag assembly have to be replaced because it's blocking the contact. The assembly is $900+. The airbag has never been deployed. Is the diagnostic correct? Thanx

Alex, if the problem is in fact the horn switch in the airbag cover you need a replacement part like this:
I just ordered one tonight. Wish they had a video showing the removal of the airbag from the steering wheel. I've read prior posts, but I'm more of a visual person. A little leary of removing that airbag

dont be worried about removing the airbag, just make sure first and foremost that there is absolutly no power in the system, This means disconnecting the battery and either waiting a while or turning the key to on and making sure no electricity is left in the system. Just make sure you hook it up the same way you took it out and you will be fine, if you screw anything up the car will tell you when you turn it on after its back together in the form of an air bag light
