I thought this was a pretty cool car from 2004, however between auto trader and ebay, there are 2 dozen of these listed that are all low mileage etc.
Why are so many of these cars listed? Is there something more to these cars than meets the eye? What would be a good buy price for one of these with say 30k mi or less?
You sure the two dozen you found aren't actually several ads for the same cars?
But realistically, they aren't that hard to find at any time.
Each one of them is a different car. Different locations, mileage, sellers, etc. Wonder why they are so plentiful for sale when there are only 2025 produced? I guess 2025 isn't really that small a production...

They are a great looking car. Perhaps the owners just got the bug for either another, newer Vette or the time was right for a switch to another type of car. Hard to say for sure, but if you can find a really nice one at a decent price, it would be a good choice.
So, does anyone have a suggestion on what a good buy price would be for one of these cars in excellent condition and under 30k mi.?
I would think in the $26K range. From what I saw, these sell for maybe $2K over a "regular" C5Z. I definitely like this car (known as the Z16), but I don't care for the polished rims. The Z16 was probably my 3rd choice after a Yellow or a Electron Blue car.
The Z16 definitely has the most potential to be a collectible car down the road even though it isn't really rare. It just happens to be the most unique/rare of the C5Zs (unless you consider the white '01s).

Look up Electron Blue. It was also a rare color but always some for sale. My vert has only 400 like it and yet I still managed to find one within 50 miles of my house in Electron Blue which I wanted WHEN I was looking to buy it. Some would call it fate...

For blue it only barely had less than both 02 and 03 models in electron blue. It also had almost 1/3 of 2004 production models so literally 1/3 2004 Z06s for sale are going to be Z16s. I like the polished wheels personally. $26k sounds like a good starting price. Good luck

Maybe partially because the production number of the Commemorative Edition Z(2025) was higher by far than any other Z color in 2004.
Black 1186
Silver 967
Red 876
Yellow 629
But at 2025 produced, it is definitely a rare color when compared to totals of all other Z colors during the full production of 2001-2004. Only ones lower were the machine silver(967, produced in 2004 only)and the speedway white(352, produced in 2001 only).

Good info, thank you. Would a Z16 or 03 Z Electron Blue be rarer? Where do you find these stats published?

Oops, guess I just answered my question above. I assume there are more electron blue 03 Z06 than 04 Z16

Coll info, thank you!! What sources do you use for these facts?
I guess what I am kind of getting it is.... I'm considering an 04 Z16 vs 03 Z06 Blue or Red. Of course, the 03 has the 50th badge even though it isn't the full 50th special edition. I guess I am curious to see the production numbers of the Z16 vs the 03 Z06's.
Www.vettefacts.com or google a specified year Chevrolet corvette C5 production statistics and facts.
Great, thanks! I'm new to the whole game as you can tell. I had always dreamed of having a steel bumper C3 as that was the coolest car ever when I was a kid. However, now that owning one could be a reality for me, I have been pretty much talked out of the C3 and into a C5.... either way, I love the whole hobby and enjoy learning from all the Vette Phanatics here
Ok, so, there are more Z16 than 03 Z06 of any color. Interesting. I was partially talking myself into liking that stripe stuff on the Z16 anyway. I like some unique flair but that much stripe is a little cheesy for my tastes. If I were Mark Martin it might be called for but I have no plans of racing the car

Thanks all!
Except for the black at 2599.
Also one rare option that the lemans blue commemorative edition Z has that no other Z has is the carbon fiber hood.
