Default JD Power Survey

I took delivery 50 days ago and I just got a JD Power Survey sheet. Does every C5 owner get one of these? There is not much to fill out because I have not used the car very much and I do not have any problems.

I got one about 2 months after i got the car. The survey isnt really worded well so it was a waste of time. I never sent it back, but i did send the one back to GM and I told them the orange peel in the paint is horrible, the leather for the seats suck, and my parking lights have condesation in them all the time(dealer fixed with new assembly). To my surprise i got a phone call back from GM about 3 months later. I wasnt home at the time and never called them back because I would just end up talking to a secretary and that would also be a waste of my time.

I received one, filled it out, and sent it back. Has anyone not received one?

I work in the auto supply industry and I can tell you that the J.D. Power survey is not a waste of time. It is the single biggest feedback vehicle that the automakers use. I encourage everyone to fill it out honestly and return it. Remember, if you don't vote, don't complain- same goes for the survey.

kh24 - if you didn't like the leather or the orange peel why did you buy the car?

This was the most heavily surveyed car I have ever purchased. I received a JD Power survey, a survey from the dealership, and a survey from GM. I gave top marks on everything.

I received the JD Power survey about 40 days after I got the car. I thought it was kind of early, but I had 900 miles on at the time so I felt I had enough of an opinion. Interestingly, after I submitted the survey, I've noticed a loud intermittent ticking/clacking lifter noise that I don't think is right, and the weatherstripping near the rear of the driver door isn't seated right and makes wind noise at highway speeds. If the survey had arrived now instead of earlier, I would have put these problems down. But as it was, this Chevy got a zero defect report from me. Oh well, I'm still very pleased with the car and its quality exceeded my expectations.

No flame intended but you didnt read my post very carefully. I told GM my comments on the car which have nothing to do with "why did you buy the car". I bought the car for the performance and nothing else. My other 2 cars that i have owned before where old and had rotting interiors so i'm not the type to complain about an interior...I just told GM what i thought they should look into and try to do better. I also ordered the car back in august, so i didnt have a pick of any Z06 on the lot(cause you couldnt find them back then) to find one with better paint or an interior. I did not tell GM what i thought about the paint or leather untill i saw several more Z06s that where horrifying. I am lucky that i got one this good and it is still far from perfect.

As for the JD Poweres survey, i found it too vague to give an accurate discription of any problems. If the survey was made up to suit each model i would have filled it out, but until then it was a waste of time.

I agree, the survey is not specific enought. But, as I said, the industry really does try to respond to this survey and make improvements. You are right that they should have a survey taylored to each make and model so that the information back to the maker really targets what the customer wants. That said, the phone survey I got from Bowling Green wasn't much better. I also question why they don't wait a little longer so you can really get to know the car. One or two months may be OK for a daily driver but not for a most Corvette s.

JD POWER survey is everything to new car dealers, manufacturers.
Please fill them in and send them off.
Got mine, and sent out that day. Received phone call from Bowling green on the minor problem of rear cv boot that came loose. Dealer repaired, cleaned off all the cv boot grease on the suspension and the wheel. All better.

Ric, I agree..............GM is REALLY [aying attention to what JD powers is reporting..........they have had a Bulletin relaeased that stated a FULL 6-8% of of ALL corvette owners are not happy with te damges on their new cars at delivery.........they want that STOPPED.

Thye have informed BIG volume dealers, that the cars will now be checked at EACH OFFLOAD point for damages( it's WAY past time).

THis means when it goes on the RR carrrier, and when it comes OFF the RR carrier, when it comes OFF the truck at the dealership also,,,,,,,,,

I had a long VERY pleasant visit with the body shop Mgr yesterday.......his exact words were" IF the folks at his dealership would INSPECT the vettes as they were being unloaded.......his job would be a LOT easier".

Meaning........the problem I had with mine was COMMON at his dealership, and he was tired of having to TRY & make a damaged Vette look like a new one, when if simple steps were taken........it would never ever happen.........

I have bought 2 Z's, and I have not recieves a JD Powers poll.............
When and IF I do.................I will be ADDING an addendum, as to what the hellacious problems we are continuing to have as 50k car buyers.

If GM wants a better rating, a BIG step in the right direction, would be to admit the damages, NOT accuse the customers of damaging the cars, and FIX em' perfectly, the first time, and provide a LIKE loaner during the process.

My wife drives an Acura 3.2 TLS..............
I am not thrilled with the number of "Small", problems I have had with it......."Trim Work".
BUT...............I have NEVER been treated with MORE resprect, and provided transportaion, ( and not a Geo), without ANY hassle in my loife.
YOu wopuld think I had bought a Porche GT2................their customer service is the BEST I have ever seen.

Exactly what we should EXPECT, deserve, and demand as Corvette owners.........especially Z06's.............
So, pls DO fill em' out.............tell them the truth.........and this will eventually get the job DONE.

There is NO EXCUSE for a screwed up 50k car..........ZERO. :bs
