Default Production Numbers

Is it possible to ascertain how many cars were automatic or manual within a given exterior color for the given year? I was introduced to vettefacts.com but it doesn't seem to have this info. For the sake of not splitting hairs, is it close enough to assume half of the cars were auto and half manual? Would that be in the ballpark?

This site may help with production numbers for each year Corvette. It shows numbers for options, colors, models, etc.

Best Wishes.....Tom

A Corvette Black Book would be a great investment for you. You can get one at www.corvettemuseum.com

Don't know of any site that would give you the info you want. Generally there were more A4 cars built in the coupe/vert than MN6s by a considerable margin. Of course, Z06s only had the 6-speed. A Corvette Black Book, as suggested above, is a nice resource to have.

I got a printout of all the RPO#s /options for my VIN# on a site someone here reccomended. Compnine I think it was. Unfortunately I went back a few weeks later and the site had been taken down. It was an impressive database. Even so I don't know how you would acurately track what you are asking.

Given the fact that fewer 6spds were built, I would suspect the number compared to a given color would be less than half. Mine is one of 520 Navy Blue Verts built in 99. So lets say less than 260 were 6spds. Rare???? I don't know about all that but least makes me feel better about all the work I'm doing to save it.

I do not think there is a site anywhere that will tell you how may MN6 were produced in a specific color. You can find out how may MN6 were installed foe each year and how many of the different colors were ordered, but not the two together.

there were 3,672 Coupes and Conv. with the Z51 RPO code and 6,928 MN6. There is no way to break down a specific color with the two options you are looking for that I am aware of.

Yes, that is what I figured. I thought the two together would be a tall order. But, thanks to everyone as I have practically answered the question, just not down to the exact number. Close enough for me!

Thank you, too bad it's gone. I am new here but I have already built a nice little internet resource library on the advice of others.

By the way, Duce Staley is one of my all-time favorites and that is a darn nice picture of him!
