Default ACA style lights install question...

I see that the ACA style lights are REALLY popular with alot of members on here. I'm considering doing this upgrade over the winter or in the spring but I'm curious about a couple of things so I was hoping some of you could help. I see that most of the time the ACA kits come with additional harness wiring that you would run to the battery. There are a couple of DIYs on here that all seem to include installing the included wiring harness with the new housings. Why is this? Do you need to use this harness and not the OEM wiring? Can you just use the OEM wiring for your headlights and replace the lens and housings? Can and will anyone help me with this? I know that upgrading to HIDs is a popular option to do at the same time. Since alot of kits can be simple plug and play design would you still need to use the replacement wiring harness that usually comes with the ACAs or can you just use the OEM wiring? Thank you for the help.

I installed my ACA without the harness over a year ago and have had no issues.

Thanks for the quick reply Bill. If I look at the harness in the pics it looks like they have relays and I read somewhere that the harness allows for the highs and lows to operate at the same time. Since I've already got the radioflyer's Hi-4 harness I would assume that the included wiring would not be necessary. Did you use the wiring/harness components that are installed on the ACA housings themselves? Just trying to figure out what all would be involved in this upgrade. Thanks again.

If you have the radioflyer's Hi-4 harness you don't need to use the harness that comes with the ACA.

Great. Thanks guys. That would make the installation MUCH easier. The ACAs are looking more and more attractive...now need time and monies to do just that.

Do it. You will love the difference. Like night and day difference (pun intended).
