It looks like it's time for a new clutch on the vert. Someone suggested purchasing a Z06 clutch upgrade kit rather than replacing with stock. Has anyone on the C5G done this? A good idea?

There are lots of aftermarket clutches out there, but I did just what you're suggesting. The Z06 clutch was something like $20 more than the stock clutch and the install was exactly the same as stock. However, there may be some better aftermarket options for the same price or less. I'm sure others will chime in. Zuti
Unless you're going with big power, the LS7 clutch is the way to go. Just be sure to replace the hydraulics, throwout bearing, install a speed bleeder and use new bolts on the pressure plate and flywheel. Make sure you get the torque specs and pattern correct for those bolts as well. A factory shop manual will pay for itself after this job.
