Has anyone used "tire dolly's" that slip under each tire and then that tire can be jacked up so that you can roll the car around a garage ? I've also seen dolly's that you need to jack up the car and then slip the dolly under the tire.
Just wondering how these work with C5 Corvettes ? I just bought a 98 coupe and I'm getting ready to store it for winter. These look like a good idea so that I can push the car sideways and get it closer to the wall.
I have a set of NMW Roll Masters. They're great - easy to move the car around. Commercial quality, low profile, cast bases, ball bearing wheels. I caution about those from Harbor Freight and others that sell for about $40 each. I had them and for sure you won't have to worry about the car rolling away on you! With that set, I had the best luck using a 2x6 7ft. long to use as a lever. You really have to work to get the casters reoriented.
I have no experience with the "positioning" jacks that you are asking about. They sell for about $200 each. They look cool, wonder how they work? I, too, would like to hear about experiences of those that use them.
I have a set and they work great , just make sure you have somebody help you control the car when you move it, I was moving my 80 and hit a belt sander and put a scratch in the back of it . Ron
I have purchased several different brands, (wasted a whole lot of money), and these are by far the best on the market.
You don't want to store a car on the ones that jack up the tire.
