Pillar Damage?
Went to look at a 50th Vert with 27,000 miles at a local dealership this past Saturday.
After taking a test drive the car felt smooth and tight, looking over the vert I had noticed some small scatches here and there but nothing major, during my walk around I then noticed what seem to be about a
1" crack or lamination of the paint on the passenger door near the door handle, really wasn't sure what it was or what could have caused it.
After the saleman and I returned to the office I asked the saleman for the Car Fax which the saleman looked at first and then pointed out to me the car had been in a minor accident back in 2003; I asked to see the Car Fax and noticed where the fax described the damage as right front pillar damage and right center pillar damage, I asked the saleman what would be considered the pillars and he said he wasn't sure but thought they were on the side, my question is where are the front and center pillars located and is it as serious as I think it is?
I also want to say thanks to the help and information shared by the members on this site, I felt impowered knowing more than the sales person and knowing exactly what to look for while inspecting the vert

if it has listed both front and center pillars it means the door was damaged. The accident estimating software does not have a spot for door, so when you put in the area of damage it will list it as pillars for side impacts.
