I just filled up with gas and I tried turning the nozzle 90 degrees like I read in the forum and it worked like a champ. First time since I've had the car I was able to fill the car with out it shutting off several times.
The PCV hose that is right next to the throttle body on the passenger side had a hole in my car, and I had problems filing the car up. Also, when I opened the gas tank, there would be a lot of "air" comming out of the gas tank. I got a fuel shower once two years ago because of it. I replaced that little piece of hose, and my problem is gone.

Until I retired, I was having to fill the tank every three days, so I went through a lot of gas and fillups. I tried everything till I hit on the 90 degrees CCW and it worked without issue. That's why I mentioned it.
hmmmm. wonder how I get 20 gallons in my 2000? Gas Station Fraud?
Yes it is fraud. Contact the Bureau of Weights and Measures and report it. I've run into this several times over the years. One business was forced to close up due one of my reports. Another had to shut down a pump only. Others came back as supposedly reporting accurately so who knows how much money exchanged hands in those cases. Still wondering to this day as we know precisely how much our tanks hold and its simply not possible to squeeze more in there even though the pump seems to think it did.
Since I live in New Jersey where it's DANGEROUS to pump your own fuel, I don't know why it wouldn't fill. I assume the rocket scientist licensed to operate the pump knew what he was doing so it must have been that pump. It never happed again.
I ran into that once. I don't remember what state it was, possibly Oregon? Anyway, I was surprised and wondering if the people pumping the gas were expecting a tip for doing it? They told me it was for safety reasons....lol what a joke but if its giving people a job, ok.

Jersey is semi-understandable but I did not suspect "Oregon-ized crime" controlled other state's stations.
