No idea about tranny/diff but manual says 6.5 quarts for oil. I've read numerous threads where guys run 7.0. Manual says add one quart over for track days so that's 7.5 quarts.

I'm currently running around 7 all the time.

4 quarts (1 gal) Trans and 2 quarts diff. My recommendation is Amsoil for these. Just picked some up from forum member "Subdriver"...shipped right to my door and paid less than I did for royal purple off the shelf a couple years ago.

I wrote a procedure to swap the Diff, and Tranny fluids on my web site.

I plan to do an oil change procedure next time I do mine in the spring. There are a few procedures out there for it though. You will need 6.5 qts to fill it. So buy 7 qts.

Its on my web site..... www.ToqueZ06.com

Scroll to the bottom and click on:
--> C5 6 Speed Manual Fluid change:
--> C5 Rear Differential Fluid change:

Hope this helps.

I just picked up my 03z last month with 36k on it and changed all 3 fluids. Used Mobil 1 for each. 6.5qts 5w30 for engine, 4 qts ATF for trans, 2 qts of 75w90 plus small bottle of GM LSD additive for rear. All 3 were very easy jobs, I was surprised at how easy the trans and rear were to change, not a hard job at all imo.

I've also done the clutch master cylinder flush/change and the coolant flush. The clutch master cylinder fluid didnt look like it had ever been changed but the coolant looked like it just came out of the bottle. Previous owner must have done it really recently.

The fluids AMSOIL recommends for your engine oil, tranny and diff:
AMSOIL Signature Series 100% Synthetic 5w30 (Product Code ASLQT) (takes ~ 7 qts)
AMSOIL Torque-Drive Synthetic Transmission Fluid (Product Code ATD1G) (takes ~ 3.5 qts - this is 1 gal size)
AMSOIL Severe Gear Extreme Pressure Synthetic 75w90 (Product Code SVGQT) (takes ~ 1.7 qts)

Note that the Severe Gear comes with friction modifier already in it and adding extra modifier is not normally needed for the C5. I personally have been using the tranny and diff fluid in my 02 Z06 at the track for years without failure, but I use AMSOIL's racing engine oil. That said, I did use AMSOIL's top tier Sig Series 0w30 in my CTS-V (LS-2 engine) while it was my daily driver from 06-09 and I get very low wear metal results with the AMSOIL (Jun 07 sample was M1 5w30, the rest AMSOIL):
Cadillac CTS-V Used Oil Analysis - AMSOIL 0w30

If you do opt for the AMSOIL fluids, more than happy to get them for you at wholesale, about 25% off, via the AMSOIL Preferred Customer Program. Drop me a PM if interested.

MTPZ06 - thanks for the mention!

I appreciate the order. Your fluids should arrive tomorrow - enjoy your new Z06 and have fun with the fluid swap this weekend.
