Are the mail order tunes of much value? do you think you get the full benefit out of it, or is a street tune better in your opinion ? Dyno tunes are ok, but not as good as a genuine street tune in the real world, dyno gives you a number, street tune at least you can set it up in many situations, but a mail order tune ? i have no idea. Any opinions would be welcome.
Have, headers, cam, heads, cai, catback, and tuned before heads n cam.
In my opinion a mail order tune is worthless on a highly modified car. There are so many variations - cam timing, air flow, etc, etc, that there is no way it can be even close to accurate. Find a quality tuner with a dyno and get all the required parameters properly sorted out. It's gonna cost more, but how much really. Get it done properly and you will be happier in the long run.
get a street tune. Mail order tunes are safe, but wont get you your full potential. Shop around, good deals out there. Just make sure the person doing it is competent
we're lucky to have 2 great tuners here in our area now Al, if you're wanting a tune, don't waste time with a mail order, a couple short years ago we had a "lack of tuners" problem, but not anymore...I had mine street tuned, locally, took about 3 hrs....

You'll get a benefit from a mail order tune as attested by the comments from forum members that have had them done. Still, I would think that getting a tune from a local shop you trust would be the way to go - nothing like having the car right there to see what changes do.
