Passive Locks
I have a 99 FRC and one of my favorite non performance features is the passive lock system. It's not a major item but it is so darned convenient! I have mine set to have the approach lights come on which doesn't hurt in finding your car at night in a dark parking lot. Curious if those of you who have this system use it.

I had mine on when I first got the car, but really didn't trust it to lock the car when I walked away. then when I'm home, my drive is very close to the house and my wife noticed that my car would lock or unlock when I walked from the living room to the kitchen, so I disabled it.

When I had my '99, it was a pretty cool feature at first, but then it kept going off whenever I moved around the house with my keys in my pocket. Ended up just disabling it. Haven't really missed that feature on either my '00 or my current '03.

It's one of those "looks good on paper" ideas. A PITA. Probably why GM discontinued it after '99.

It's cool but I had to shut it off too. Walking around the yard the car would lock and unlock - yet I never trusted it lock when I really left it anywhere. Since you still have to pull out the key to start the car I never really saw the advantage.
My daughter's Scion has a version of the passive lock. It will unlock when you are standing next to it and operate the door handle or trunk release. It does not lock automatically - you still have to punch it.
The Scion also has no ignition key - just a button. Now that takes getting used to.

gave up on it. one handy thing though if you had it enabled and managed to lock your keys in the car all you had to do is shake the car hard and the doors would unlock.
