Default DTE Performance Represents Change

Not long after I purchased DTE Powertrain I realized that there were some serious issues that needed addressed. I went looking for information and feedback so I could identify where to start and that’s when I was introduced to the Corvette Forum. I was a little taken back that we were not a supporting vendor and soon discovered why. Those problems have been fixed and now I have access to what I consider one of the most powerful feedback tools any business owner could hope for. I carefully monitor the forum and every once in a single post, such as this one generates a discussion thread that is loaded with just the stuff needed to attack certain issues and fix problems.

I heard several times that the jury is still out on the new owners. I found that very encouraging in that it validated the fact that I have arrived on the scene and replaced the previous owner. With that complete my staff and I can set out to gain your confidence back and rebuild DTE. One of the first things I would like to do is at a high level share with everyone what has changed and what remains the same.

WHAT WE ARE CHANGING

• Owners – DTE is now owned by me, Steve Dager and a few investors. Along with change in ownership came a complete change in how we do business.
• Operational improvements – These don’t directly impact our customers but they are the foundation of future changes focused on customers and service.

Customer Service
• Friendly and Professional Service – The whole DTE team is committed to our customers, we will listen to them, work with them at all times and respect who they are. If a customer approaches us with a problem or concern we react and work to resolve whatever the concern is to the best of our ability.
• We will stand behind our work - Our contract to our customers is our warranty and that document will be utilized as the basis for our decisions and actions.
• Delivery – My team clearly understands my position on delivery. The date is the date. We will deliver as promised unless shortages or market conditions create a delay. If a delay is unavoidable we will communicate the problems to the customer in a timely manner.

Product and Quality
• I have implemented several changes in our assembly processes as a means of insuring a more robust product. These changes are more focused on extending the overall life.
• We have implemented more quality checks and tools throughout our shop and will continue to do so as we roll out more changes.

WHAT REMAINS THE SAME

• Technical Staff – With the exception of one individual our technical staff remains unchanged. Why, because I evaluated their work and commitment to our product and am convinced they are among the best in the industry.
• Internal Components and Parts – The performance of our differentials starts with the stuff we put inside. We utilize the best in industry and will continue to do so.
• Fundamental Assembly – This remains largely unchanged with a few exceptions. Our processes are aligned with recommendations or more commonly exceed those recommendations.
• Warranty –We will continue of offer one of the best warranties in the industry.
We are now being recognized as our own entity and implementing change where necessary. The final ingredient is your confidence. We stand ready to win that confidence. We still have room for improvement and will continue that everyday. There are still products in service from the previous owner in the fall within the warranty window. We work diligently with these customers to solve their problems and hopefully return them to a satisfied status.

I want to thank each and every individual who takes the time to post their experiences, both good and bad on the forum these are the post that will drive change and generate improvement as we move forward allowing us to provide you, the real car guys, the best products available on the market.

Thanks to all for your continued business, support, and encouragement. It is you the customer that makes this whole deal fun, which is why I purchased the business.
Sincerely

Dale DeRoche – President DTE Performance.

Thanks for posting ! Your company is one of a couple that I've considered buying a built rearend from in the near future. I did buy a DTE brace which is still on the car but when ordering it a couple years ago was directed to buy it through a different parts supplier.

I did and the brace has worked as discribed but again thought it was strange to have to buy it from someone other then the people who made it.

Looking forward to doing business in the furture with y'all..

Jeremy rebuilt my diff just a few months ago, he was a pleasure to work with and apparently did a great job. My hat is off!

Hi Dale....I just want everyone to know my experiance with the new DTE. First of all, Dale is a very nice guy. He will work with you the best that he can and will explain things. Jeremy is also top notch nice guy. He knows his diffs. I just recently bought a stage 2 diff from them with the 3.90. I called them up and ask alot of ques then I ask them if they can have me one built within two weeks because I was in the area. He said no problem. I picked it up on my way home from work so I can save the shipping charge..Very Nice people......Thanks Dale and Jeremy....Dan
