Cool trick to try. I used a very small magnet and taped it to the line going through the driver door, then used my magnet pointer to grab it. Made the whole install process literally take 5 minutes. Took longer to get the fuse out then to get the entire thing wired.
Finally broke down and ordered one for my C5. I suck at estimating curbs and my C5 front end is near perfect. Kinda wanna keep it that way. Look forward to get this in.
Just watched your video which left me with two questions:
Tell me about the reliability of the double sided tape for the sensor.
Why doesn't every vendor do a video on the installation of many of these add-ons? Once I see it, it becomes simple. Reading someone's instructions (often unintelligible), it goes in a drawer until I have time to figure it out.

We've sold hundreds and never had one fail. I can't speak for others on your second question.

Properly prepared, it should last the life of the car, but I'm kind of a "belt and suspenders" kind of guy. There's an extra bracket in the kit that has a tab out to the side clear of the sensor itself. I drilled a hole in that tab and ran one of the fascia screws through it.

I can attest to how easy and straight forward the install is. I bought a Curb Alert for my dads Vette and had it installed in about the time they mention. Super simple install and it works great. And considering its saved the front spoiler 3 or 4 times since installing, its already paid for itself.

This questioned was asked but not answered, if you have either the front sensor or both the front and back will the sensors go off when in traffic when a cars pulls up close to you or you pull up close to the car in front of you ?
What about rain or water from washing your car, will the sensor become damaged ?

The important thing to understand with the Curb Alert is the calibration process. You can change the position, angle, and range of the sensor to avoid false alarms like you're describing. Go through those steps carefully and you won't have any problems.
I have never heard any reports of sensors being damaged by water.
After two full seasons of use with my splitter no curb issues. My brother installed the same splitter within weeks of mine, after 1 1/2 seasons his is toast
