advise, My car is on jacks for the winter, so thought I would clean the underneth, so in doing so I noticed a black spot on the heat shield driver side where the H pipe meets up with the muffler pipe, I cleand it off and noticed a slight crack on the weld, question is can this be welded without taking the H pipe off. thanks in advance. (GINO)

Dont know how high your car is off the ground but that could be a PITA you may want to take it to an exhuast shop and have them do it.(or is that what you are talking about doing) should not be to expensive.

I would think that as long as you can see where the crack begins and ends a good welder could fix it for you. They just need to keep the heat away from the underside surface of the car.
