Default Insulation question for a C5 Convertible

I am in the process of redoing the interior of my 2001 covertible and I was thinking as long as i have the seats out why not go ahead and add the noise and heat insulation at this time.I know that this would help with the engine, floor and consol heat but I don't know about the noise. If anyone that has a vert and insulated theirs I would like to hear from from them about the experiance. Also anyone with info would be appreciated.
Happy New Year

Probably the best area to hit hard for noise is the rear wheel well area. You'd be surprised how much road noise comes from there.

Did the insulation, and the area around the rear wheels and the tub make a big difference in noise control. Cut the heat down in the tunnel area too. It's a good mod. Bill Curlee has a good picture instruction on this using the Frost King insulation, if you search you'll find lots of info. Good luck

I agree it is a good mod. Did mine and it helped with noise and heat.

Did my vert about five years ago. Helps with holding out the heat and road noise with the top up, not so much with top down. Ditching the run flats helped reduce the noise more than anything else did.

I don't have a vert but sound insulated my C5Z a few years ago. I think very highly of Second Skin Audio Sound deadening products. Check out my thread which shows lots of pictures and details... I hope you find it useful,
