I have a 1999 and sometimes when I open my drivers door and shut it my power windows and lock buttons wont work. Then I have to open the door then they will start to work fine. I have a short somewhere but looking for help if someone had this problem before and can help before I start taking my door apart, thanks Dave

The first place I would look is the area between the door and the body where the wires go through, It is a known issue with the C5 having troubles in that area. Check connections and for a cut wire.

Like the others have said, this is a common problem. Next time it happens, try squeezing the rubber accordian tube between the door and body and then try working the windows again.
you prolly have have what i had. where everything on the driver door doesn't work, and the buttons dont light up when your lights are on. i fixed my by getting a new door module. they are really expensive so look online, they re normally like 500$ but i found one for 90$. Ebay is the place to go.
Don't fret over it. Start with one item and work your way through fixing it, then move onto the next. Remember that nothing lasts forever therefore as our cars age, things will need fixing. As suggested, the serial data connection in the doorjam accordian tube is one real possibility. The door control module relays are yet another and the relays are cheap to replace. Pull your codes via the DIC and post them. Pay attention to any "H" or "C"s that you see as well.
