Default C6Z Replicas on C5Z

Hey guys...Im looking to get some rims for next year and I know 100% I will be going with the c6z06 type. I get lots of pictures that show a 19" rear along with 18" front which looks great..but was wondering if anyone has a set of c6z replicas in 18"rear and 17" front to see how it looks overall and still keep the original sizing. (Im affraid if i go ahead with the 18/17 then I will regret the overall look due to the size)

Thanks in advance

This is the car that made the decision final! (The MY with the 19/18's) : D I love that look..but want to see if anyone out here has a 18/17 setup so i can compare and finalize!

i have a few regrets about going 18/19. wheel tire selection goes way down and prices go WAY up

I actually see more tire choices in 18/19...and least in C5Z sizes. Not many Vendors are making wide 17" tires these days. One of my fav tires (have them on my M3) is the Hankook Ventus V12...not wide enough in 17. Go up to 18F/19R and I can do them. Though I agree, they get pricier as the sizes go up!

When I was looking for tires on ebay, I only found maybe 3 kinds that were in 18 and 19. Dot slicks are hard to fid also. I'm curious how many you found.

Do you see yourself ever modding the car for more power? You'll want wider tires.

I have these wheels for now...

Tirerack.com lol

and yea slicks are hard to find cuz people know not to drag with a 19" wheel

find a wide 17-18" rim for the track then youll be fine.

I did manage to find a 18/17 here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/whee...s-on-a-c5.html the red z06.
It looks okay but i think im still leaning towards the bigger sizing. I guess it would be a better route to go and spend a little extra on tires every couple of seasons rather than changing the entire rim/tire combo later on.
some bolt ons will go on next year..but nothing that makes crazy power for wider tires...yet

You put 4.10s in your car you will hahah
There are members who dont road race or drag, but have done a rear swap and love it.

In your cars Id go bigger. Power is like a drug, you want more

Thanks for the pic..very clean car. It seems to be a perfect size for these cars...

TriplBlk
What is your combo? 19/18 as well? also is your rear lowered? there seems to be a small gap back there, or is your engine just pulled ready for a swap?

Thanks, I saw a C5 with the C6Z replicas here at a local dealer in a 17/18 and they looked too small, I would only go the 18/19 route with these wheels.
