The clutch Andy at A&A Corvette installed in our C5 was a ACT clutch. Also he installed a new slave cylinder, master cylinder and pilot bearing along with the s/c. I am very happy with the feel of the clutch.
I've run stock, LS7 with lightweight flywheel, RAM Dual Street, Spec 3+ and now RPS CC Street Lite.
The LS7 clutch was great with 460RW. Felt like the stock clutch. Some people have had trouble at the strip but since I never tried it there I can't say with mine.
RAM Dual was a great clutch but the rattle drove me nuts.
The Spec 3+ had not great drivability and the car wouldn't shift at high RPM at the strip.
The RPS clutch is a lot more than you need but it's a GREAT clutch. Progressive engagement, no chatter and just a slight bit of noise in neutral.
I have a Diamond stage 2 clutch w/ lwfw and really like it. I currently have full bolt-ons but in two weeks I'm changing the cam and switching to 3.90 gears and will be running Toyo R888s in the rear. I expect this clutch to hold since it's rated at 600HP.
The pedal is a little stiffer than stock, but still o.k. in traffic. Very little chatter when in neutral. I've found I only hear the chatter when I haven't driven it in a while or if I've been driving in town for several days in a row and haven't been able to step hard on the fun pedal in a while. One romp on the gas and through the gears and it's quiet again. So far it's been a great clutch.
RPS twin-disk. Hated it at first, and now after 6000 miles on it, I hate it just a little less. Rattles at idle, chatters if you slip it too slowly at low rpm. I have stoplight take-offs down pat, though. I can take off normally with a blip of the throttle and a quick slip. The clutch does grab very nicely, and pedal pressure is very good.
monster but will go with something different if have to replace it.
Took every bit of the stock feel away from the car. not worth spending the money for a new one and I"ll more than likely never drive it enough to wear it out but my advice is stick with something that feels like stock.
