Well, if ya wanna consider it a mod, the column lock bypass I would say is a must have.
Performance wise, guys usually start with an air intake, headers, catback and tune.
Guess it really depends on what your end goal is and more so what your budget is - - could just go forced induction and be done with it...
Then there's suspension and drivetrain too...

Great bang for the buck is a short throw shifter...if you have a MN6.
I love my MGW. Install isn't too difficult.

Headers, new wheels, painted engine components, interior upgrades, double din stereo upgrades, etc. Just keep looking here on the forum and you'll run across all the things owners do to their cars.

Popular mods in the C5 crowd: Intake, exhaust, wheels, lighting (HID's, LED's, Halo's).
More popular mods that are either free or cheap: Lowering, Column lock bypass, skip-shift eliminator, painted calipers.

If you have aspirations of eventually going SC or Turbo, don't do the air intake mod because it would be a waste of money. Those setups come with their own intake.
I would start with Catbacks and lower then car and go from there.
If audio means anything to you, then you will need to talk to Dennis at DD Mods.

Here's my list:
1. Lower the car
2. CAI
3. Exhaust (cat-back & LT headers)
4. Short throw shifter
5. tune
MANDATORY:
1. Column lock bypass
2. CAGS skip
In my opinion with the mods above the car will perform, look, sound, & feel 100% better. Good luck!

The best mod I did that was really noticeable was when I got rid of the
"run-flats".

Couple of free-mods are to lower on stock bolts and remove the body side molding.
Cheap(er) mods;
Painted calipers
Window tint
CAI
If you want the sound go with a catback, but if you don't wanna spend as much, go with DMH Electric cutouts. $400, my neighbor welded them on for a case of beer and by far my favorite to date mod. I play with the cutouts every time I drive my car.

Okay, aside from sounding stupid, I have to ask.
While I am fairly new to the C5 scene, I have to ask what you do a Column lock bypass for, what are the benefits?
Thanks
Rob
