Default xspower catbacks......wow

Got my catbacks for my 03 today. System is well built and really sharp. Install went easy once on the rack. Used some heavier clamps. Didn't come with gaskets but had some. Around town and at idle has a nice deep thoaty sound. Took it out on the road and opened it up.......wow this exhaust screams
at wot. I know everybody says that catbacks add zero power but I disagree. Car has never ran or sounded better. Oh, zero drone. Love this system at half the price of the others. Would suggest it to anyone. Get sum.

I had a set ox XS Power cat backs put on our '03 Wednesday. I agree they sound and look very good. WOT is a rush! The shop where the work was done were not too impressed though. Went so far as to say that out of all the Corvettes he has done this was by far the worst kit he has put on a car. The end product is very nice. Has a great growl when you fire it up. No drone what so ever at cruising rpms.

Pics? And I do agree, a good sounding catback system really makes the car more fun to drive.

Thanks for the post, glad you are loving the system!
In regards to one of the other posts above, some shops give a little gruff about the system being 321 and the clamps taking a little bit more than normal work to clamp the catback to keep the tip aligned. Just take a little muscle, and then a retighten after a heat cycle and they should be good to go

And for those interested in more reading on them, you can check them out here: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...-catbacks.html

I guess you didn't understand my post! I did say XSpower catbacks, as far as the suggestion it simply means that I would suggest getting them opposed to some of the more expensive systems. As far as not knowing what I'm talking about maybe you should read the posts thoroughly and then make comments, everyone else seems to have understood it. Sorry if I didn't meet your standards of posting, will try to do better next time.

I am curious as well. As I mentioned, a lot do not care for the nice 321 stainless if they are just installing it as it is a little more work to get it tightened as the 321 is tough stuff! A user would really appreciate the 321 as it is awesome and will last forever! But if your just putting it on, I can see where they might prefer something softer to just slap on, tighten, go.

In any event, the user loves the system and that is all that matters!

I wish they made a dual tip version cause I would buy it in a heartbeat... dual tip looks better on the FRC Z06 imo... Im running Borla straight pipes now but I know when I go Longtubes Its gonna be way too loud....

Thanks for the video..unfortunately, that didn't help me too much. I'm trying to gauge how they sound compared to Ti's. ie, are they louder.

Plus, I don't know what all that car had done to it..sounded like more than just exhaust..

Thanks

Im really shocked to hear that. We have installed B&B,Borla,LG,Corsa and just about every exhaust made for the c5 and c6 vettes and I can say that is just a shops personal opinion and Im sure its biased because they probally didnt sell it to you. The only issue I had with mine was the clamps did not work. But it didnt matter to us as we just welded them up perfect and they slip in and out. I do have the ECS trans and diff brace and had to dimple in on one little area but thats it. Sounds great and its super loud at WOT. Ill make a clip when I get home. Because my car sounds alot louder than supermans lol

Just a cam

Figured you could use that to gauge off what yours currently sounds like. View video I posted above to listen to it without the cam in car WOT and a fly-by.
