How long does typically take a pro shop to install a cove led light kit? Or how long has it taken anyone at home to install their kit???
UPDATE:
Got em done today, 75 minutes and $100 at the shop. What a cool mod, I love the awaken mode. Another great product and fast delivery by JW Motoring.
Latest mods. Installed the Exhaust Plate White LED and love it, really shows off the Exhaust plate and tips. Special thanks to 1FUNC5 for a great buy and help with the install.
I also installed the C5 Hyperflash Harness and sequential turn signal relays, simple plug and play installations. The Hyperflash Harness cured my right side hyperflash. I just love the look of the sequential turn sigs too, make the car a little more unique, IMHO.
Next I had the Super White Cove lights installed. I don't know if anyone has seen the MI3: Ghost Protocol, but it is an awesome movie and Tom Cruise drives a new BMW that has cove lights on it and it looks incredible, after seeing that I knew it would look even better on the C5. I really like the "AWAKEN" or "BREATHING" mode. I definitely recommend the Superbright and 4 function remote option with it. This is a show stopper and red light gauker.

I'm not sure about if they are legal or not, but too cool not to have them on. I don't have a front license plate on yet either and we are supposed to IL. So far, so good not getting pulled over an harassed. Funny, when I was 18 back in 1989, I had a Turbo TA and would drive around with the fog lights on and not the lights on near dusk, and routinely get pulled over by cops and warned to have my driving lights on. Now all cars have driving lights on them. They also made me drill holes in the front and put a front license plate on. Those were the good ol' days.
I bought a set of blue..over a year ago from JWM so don't think you are the first one! lol I installed them myself and did them in about 25 minutes. Instructions call for removal of access panels, cove lining to paint them for better effects, wheel removal, etc. I just dropped them down from the engine compartment right into the cove area, cleaned location where the led strip was to go and peeled and stuck them. Easy as falling off a log. Wiring is already to go and remote is peel and stick. If I ever install another set will have my sister do it for me! lol. The effect is fantastic and if I feel like need some attention at dust or night just push the remote and voila...attention. It is a mod that no one knows is there which I like, you can suprise everyone. Happy to know that there is other Vette owners that appreciate them. Greeting,s Rob
Nice looking vette keep it up great mods I will be installing red led cove lights soon and also the exhaust plate lights to .Great job with the vanity plate I also do not run a front plate and Texas requires it I would rather get the ticket than run a front plate never have never will I gotten out of tickets cause I tell them i only use the car on weekend to shows only and alot of troopers give me a break for that,.
I guess I should of asked for some install tips before paying to get it done. The shop said the took the tires off, but I didn't see them do it, plus I have not done anything in the engine compartment, sounds easy enough but I would have screwed it up or scratched up the paint somehow. I am surprised you don't hear more about this mod, great looking and fun to display at stop lights and shows. Post some pics, I'd love to see them in different colors on different cars. I had a hard time choosing between blue and white, the super white sold me, plus I have the blue led's in the door speakers and they light to the bass, a good contrast to the white cove and white footwells with the doors open and raised up.
Keep on modden!!!

I have done several sets. Install time is under an hour and taking the tires off does help a lot. When the tires are off me and a group in our club will also paint the brake calibers, rotors, clean and polish the wheels too, check tire pressure, check tire wear, clean and paint undercoating area. I guess the more you do these mods the more you learn. I also came up with an idea to remove the cove inserts and paint them with a metal flake paint the same color as the lights and put on top of that glitter glue in the same color. The results are astonishing and at night wicked and badd azz. At car shows it draws a lot of attention. Most of the cars we installed red, on a silver car we went with white and on my personal car I went blue. Its been over a year and all lights are all the cars are still working good with no complaints. Also when doing the cove lights we installed the stainless stel mesh to since we had these cove inserts already out.

Question for you JW.... when using the remote, do you have to cycle through all the modes to get to the one you want each time? Or, can you choose a mode and just activate it on and off at will with the remote?

Thx...
No each button controls a different operation like fading and blinking
