My clutch went boom in the middle of a brakestand in the waterbox at firebird. Gives me an excuse to go faster. I will update this thread with updates on cam/ supporting mods/clutch build. Using a centerforce dual friction clutch and a 234/244 .598/.612 114+4 lsa, lunati dual gold spring retainers, keepers and trickflow pushrods, ls7 lifteres and upgraded ls9 timing set.
trickflow pushrods (installed already) lunati dual gold springs (installed already) cam is a 234/244 .598/.612 114+4 lsa.
quick update:
most parts came in to me today
head gasket, waterpump gasket, oil pan gasket, header gasket, slave cylinder, ls7 lifters, gm motor mounts
on the way are the head bolts, remote clutch bleeder, resurfaced flywheel, ls9 timing set
any who time for pictures:
Well I have run into a few little problems. Nothing too serious though. The motor is out, slave has been replaced, flywheel has been resurfaced, motor and all parts cleaned up inside and out, new cam installed, lifters intalled, and ls9 timing set and melling oil pump has been installed.
Dealership gave me the wrong head bolts even though the vin was provided to them! I did forget to buy a front main seal.
Only things left to do are to install heads, timing cover and front main seal, and install all accessories, flywheel, and clutch to the motor. The new motor mounts need mounting, and then the motor is good to drop back in!!! Hope to have it done by friday
