Default Rear Blackout Kit Question ...

I'm looking for the old style rear blackout kits, do they make them anymore ? (Non Acrylic)

Here is my 2000 Vette (Sold) That I installed the 9 Piece Acrylic kit on. I like the kit, but don't care for the looks of the taillight covers.

Here is my 98 Vette (Sold) that I purchased with the blackouts already installed.

Im now looking to install a full blackout kit on my 04 , but can't locate the rear covers that I desire. Were they painted on the 98 ? Thanks !!!

if you look at the pictures you cant see the spots where the screws are so i think they are covers not tinted. i have only seen those covers for sale once and they were used. and broken

They are form fitted covers on your car, just seen then on ebay under "C5 Corvette accessories". I have the FLAT black out kit, are they that much different? Greetings, rob

To me, the difference doesn't seem worth $90 a set. They DO look a little cleaner and more like something that would be factory than an obvious aftermarket screw on piece, but I bought the flats a while back, which fit fine (other than the slight distortion near the edges). I got pulled over yesterday and the CHP officer didn't give me a ticket for them but, of course, told me they were illegal (which I knew when I installed them). They may likely have to come off anyway, so I'll just stick with what I have.

I have a white Vette with all the back lights blacked out. My G/F thinks it looks "ghetto", but she sure doesn't mind driving my car anytime I'll let it out of my grip! Ahhh chicks....
