Ok so to sum it up, It was a windy day and I was driving around my 2004 Z06 and stopped to gas up. As I was paying, there was a gust of wind that violently pulled open the door and the very back edge hit the concrete pillar next to the pump and cracked off a piece of our door I was curious as to what i should do to fix this, if i should Bondo it back in place, or just purchase a new door panel... Pictures will come when the Sun comes up The car is black so the damage is rather obvious up close
Door skin is seriously bonded. I had a chic at work back nto my driver's side door and it appears to be cracked where the crash bar is behind the skin. Anyway, I've been contemplating the repair. As much as I am against repairing the original door, it may be my only option. A skin replace would be a more invasive and destructive repair and you can't get the factory decals on the door jamb if I replace the whole door.
It sucks, but repairing it is probably your best option too. Although I wouldn't probably use JB Weld. If you don't have a trustworthy Corvette body repairman in your area, maybe try talking to a reputable marine fiberglass repair shop. They may have a product that would do the trick and maybe it would hide well without repainting.
Sorry to hear about your bad luck with those damn posts. They always make me nervous when I'm pulling up for fuel.
