One of the cars we have looked at is Magnetic Red Metallic colour. There are maybe six stone chips on one of the front fenders which were poorly repaired. I noticed them right away. Would this be an impossible job to touch up properly being this exterior colour or could it be done if done properly? The guy at the dealership said they thought of spraying the fender but decided against it. They probably still would if I insisted it was part of the deal. The car is beautiful in every other way and we've talked them down in price quite a bit, but that would haunt me I'm sure. Would respraying it be more noticeable then the chip repairs?
Or just keep looking, lots out there..
I picked up my 02 magnetic red convertible from the body shop less than an hour ago for a 1 " fender scratch and about 8 stone chip repairs on the hood and driver side mirror. The scratch had to be sanded out, painted and cleared and the chips were filled. In both cases color blend is amazing. Total cost was $225.00

dealership is all about the money,.. more work, more cost. Don't let them convince you to let it go as is.
Just my opinion here: I'd be wary of having the dealer repair these chips. It sounds like you've already negotiated the price down quite a bit. If you insist on the repair, they're gonna do it as quickly and cheaply as possible. Remember, even though Corvettes are very special to us, it's just another business transaction to them -- and they want to stay in the black -- not red.
