About a year ago I was on my way to work on a cold morning and found that I had NO heat.
After waiting for a bit and resetting the temperature ****, the heat came on.
It happened again on another day.
No HVAC codes.
I later found at Corvette Action Center, under Knowledge Base, 1997-2004, Heating and Ventilation, a service bullitin which indicates that for 1997-2003 vehicles, turning the temperature **** in a rapid manner can confuse the HVAC controller.
I now turn the temperature **** slowly to the desired temperature, no repeat of the problem in over a year.
My '97 standard HVAC control takes 15-20 seconds to figure out where the dial is pointed in the morning, just blows air everywhere. (Like it did before I got the under the battery lines fixed). I just figured it was a quirk, now I found out it's model year specific. Like most things I bet it's more prevalent on the earlier models.
