Default please help with my purchase decision!!

about to pull the trigger on one of 2 vehicles.

2001 Speedway White with fully built LS2, RPM stage IV trans, and DTE stage 2 rear end (390's)
car made 510rwhp and has 3100 miles on build 65k on car

or

2003 Black with heads, cam, fast 90 set up made 450rwhp
10k original miles

i want something built because with my luck I'll break everything, but on the other hand 10k miles caught my eye. I would end up spending more to upgrade I'm sure though as this one isn't fully built.

HELP!

Second choice for sure.

2003 was a better year than 2001, resale value will be higher, 10K miles!!

Are they Z06s, convertible, etc?

NO WAY!!! Every way that the 03 was better than the 01 is irrelevant in this case since this 01 has a fully built engine.

I'd definitely go with the first one, assuming the LS2 build is well documented. SW is an awesome color on the C5Z, and 65k miles is nothing to these cars, especially if you've got a built engine, trans, and rearend.

Of course there's the issue of price, too. What are the asking prices???

They're both options that I couldn't, nor can, afford. lol

I guess intended purpose comes to mind...sounds like he rides them hard, races perhaps..in which case the 1st choice is best. If it were daily driver, will sell in a few years, etc, then I'd pick the second.

I can agree to that. Although, for a DD that might be sold in a few years, a Z even closer to stock form than the 2nd option might be the best choice.

Same price and car will be driven but not daily. I'm also worried the 2nd car will break something during "spirited" driving without supporting drivetrain mods. Both are zo6 and in great condition cosmetically. I'm leaning towards white because I'll end up wanting to build the black 03 and it sure ain't cheap. Thanks for all the input

Could you please explain and elaborate on, "spirited driving?" I mean...c'mon...these cars aren't going to fall apart because you pushed the pedal to the floor and cranked up the radio volume at the same time..

As previously stated, I would want to know who did the work. I've never really been into buying somone elses moded car, and prefer stock or close to it if I'm not buying new...but that's just me.

Sounds like the White '01 is more your thing, provided the work done to the car is quality. The Black '03 isn't a bad option either, but I would venture to guess that the clutch would be the first thing to go on that car if its still stock.

"spirited driving" is just me being sarcastic meaning I will take it down the strip on occasion and drive it like it's built to be. In no way do I mean beat the hell out of it but my concerns were clutch, rear end, and transmission. If the 03 has factory clutch and drivetrain parts with that power that could be an issue. Waiting for more information from the owner of that one we only spoke briefly. Ive seen the white Z and checked out the shop that did the build. Looks very reputable and they only build Corvettes. One hard launch can do big money damage. I know from experience on a previous car.

Do the 01 for sure. You would spend thousands getting the second one up to the same level and never get that extra mod money back when selling.

I would take the 03 10K one in a second, all day everyday. SW is a GREAT color, no doubt about that. But I would go with the 03 simply because of the mileage and black is a sick color also.
